Solutions for Individual Investors

You may feel that, as an individual investor, your investment activities won't make a difference. Nothing could be further from the truth. Individual investors play a critical role in the growth of Terror-Free investing as a mainstream investment strategy.

Interest in Terror-Free investing is at an all time high, so why aren't there more Terror-Free investment options? Because investors haven't yet demanded it! When you demand investment products and portfolios Screened and Certified Terror-Free by CSAG, you set in motion a chain reaction that results in your manager or financial advisor having the capability to satisfy both your needs and the needs of other investors. This paves the way for even more investors to invest Terror-Free and demonstrates to asset managers and mutual fund providers why they too should certify their investment products Terror-Free.

The following is a laundry list of investment options—along with real world anecdotes—available to millions of Americans. As always, it is important to discuss all investment options available with your investment advisor prior to choosing the strategy or product that is right for you.

Personal Investments

Don't have an advisor or manager? Terror-Free mutual funds such as the Roosevelt Anti Terror Fund are available via sites such as E-Trade, Schwab and Ameritrade or can be invested in directly via their managers.

High Net Worth Investors

If you are a high net worth investor, UMB Financial offers both domestic and international separately managed accounts that are Screened and Certified Terror-Free by CSAG. Please click here to view UMB's product brochure for its Terror-Free International Separate Account and note its performance as compared to its non-screened counterpart.

Parametric, a subsidiary of Eaton Vance, now offers a tax-managed Terror Free separate account now available in the market.

Several other leading providers have launched, or will shortly, similar Terror-Free-screened offerings, including a leading asset manager that is now offering a multi-manager platform that is Screened and Certified Terror-Free by CSAG. Please contact CSAG for more information on these and other providers or to schedule a presentation.

Financial Advisors

In most cases, a financial advisor works off a predetermined list of "approved" products. If none of those products are Terror-Free, that would limit your ability to invest using this strategy, although you could request that the financial advisor and his/her firm approve and offer certified Terror-Free products. Be prepared to wait—such an approval process takes time. Some financial advisors and their firms have already approved mutual funds and separate accounts that are Screened and Certified Terror Free by CSAG—it can't hurt to ask!

If you don't currently work with a financial advisor, consider choosing one that has access to third party products that are certified Terror-Free. Until which time there is a more vibrant market of Terror-Free options, working with a manager that has the flexibility to design a complete Terror-Free strategy is likely the best option for investors seeking such a full service approach. Please contact CSAG to find such financial advisors in your area. Note: For those financial advisors that want to connect to investors seeking Terror Free strategies, please contract CSAG.

College Savings Program (529)

As of now, only Missouri offers college savings participants Terror-Free investment options in the form of the Roosevelt Anti Terror Fund and the UMB international Terror-Free product. If you are currently a Missouri 529 participant, investing Terror-Free is as simple as choosing one or both of these options. For those of you in states that do not offer such a choice, the Missouri 529 is open to all American families saving for their children's education. We're told non-Missourians can open an account in Missouri or transfer an existing 529 from another states to Missouri if they want Terror-Free options. Of course, you could also write state officials and request that Terror-Free options be added to your states 529 college savings plan!

401k Options

As of today, Terror Free mutual fund options are available from only one retirement plan provider, Nationwide Financial. Terror-Free mutual funds are those that have been Screened and Certified Terror Free by CSAG. If your employer sponsors one of the 46,000 Nationwide retirement plans, but doesn't offer a Terror-Free option, all you have to do is ask your benefits coordinator to add the Roosevelt Anti Terror Fund (RATF) to your plan's list of investment choices. If your 401(k) program is not with Nationwide, tell your benefits coordinator that you want certified Terror-Free options added to your plan. Think that it won't work? It's these kinds of calls that encouraged Nationwide to approve the RATF for its platform, giving all of its customers a choice when it comes to Terror-Free!

For more information about the available underlying investment options, including all charges and expenses, please consult a fund prospectus. Before investing, carefully consider the fund's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses.
